IMG_7893The Saigon Professional Chefs Guid sent 2 Vietnamese Food Ambassadors abroad to introduce Vietnamese cuisine in 5 cities.

The SPC has selected 2 professional Chefs Mr. Tran Ngoc Sang and Ms Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet to participate in Vietnamese Cuisine Festivals in 5 cities in China:

Thanh Dao              21st – 30th May 2010

Hong Kong              4th – 13th June 2010

Tuyen Chau            16th – 30th June

Tham Tuyen           14th – 27th July

In each location our Chefs introduced 50 dishes divided into 3 sets of menus which were changed daily. The food was displayed and served buffet style with 3 dishes served at a life station.

The Chinese people were very interested in Vietnamese food and the most popular dishes were “Pho” (Rice Noodle Soup), “Chao Tom” (Shrimp on Sugar Cane), “Xoi Vit”  and various sweet soups.

The life stations have drawn large crowds to watch our Chefs prepare “Banh Khot”, “Banh Khoai” , “Cha Gio Che” . On average 300 guests were served daily and the food served gained lots of compliments and praise. The Chinese partners took part in preparing, cooking and serving Vietnamese food and learned more about our food culture.
